Cleantech Fund Creation Input Wanted

I've recently been pondering where best to focus my efforts and am considering setting up a cleantech fund to develop and own solar/storage projects. This article has good research about the important role climate funds play in the climate solutions: From aid to resilience: Assessing the impact of climate finance on energy vulnerability in developing countries. I'd be interested to hear from others who might have gotten into the cleantech finance space later on in their careers. I'm especially interested in any "lessons learned" that people would be willing to share. Thnx

Project origination and finding a niche that isn't already filled by traditional financing sources are two keys to success that I've discovered.

I recommend attending one of Novogradac's energy and tax credit conferences. Given how integral tax credits, etc. and accounting in general are to cleantech ownership models, I'vefound their conferences to be helpful. I'll be at the conference they are having in SD this week.
