SGIP Services for CA

Given the complextiy around SGIP rebates and eligibiltiy in California, I'm passing along the information for Eli Technologies who is running a special on discounted SGIP and TECH clean CA rebate services for CALSSA members. Their discounted services run through the end of July. Just email [email protected] with "CALSSA Promo" in the email subject or fill out the "Get in touch" form linked on their website, www.eli.build/ and let them know you are a CALSSA member. This seems to be an area where contractors and homeowners need a consultant's services...

The CPUC is set to adopt new solar sizing rules for the SGIP, specifically for the Residential Solar and Storage Equity (RSSE) Budget, which allocates $280 million for low-income households. Under the new rules, solar systems paired with storage must meet specific sizing requirements using the Expected Performance-Based Buydown (EPBB) calculator, which adjusts rebates based on system design factors like location, shading, and orientation. A minimum Design Factor of 75% will be required for rebates, and systems can only receive funding for sizing up to 150% of historical usage, with load growth needing to materialize by the time of the Incentive Claim Form. Additionally, existing solar customers cannot use SGIP to expand their systems. The RSSE budget is expected to launch by March 16, 2025.
