What are the Utility Regulators thinking?

I just read summaries of a panel of former utilty regulators that I found so interesting. In solar, I think there's a danger of utility regulators and solar contractors being at odds with each other. As with everything, understanding each others' perspective is the key to getting what you want. There are some juicy pieces of advice here:

Love this perspective - and totally agree. Less polarization and more solution building is a great approach. The grid is a complex, ancient, beast to run and manage. No one in the energy industry has an easy job.

Totally agree with both of you; there’s a lot of complexity behind the scenes that isn’t always obvious. It seems like better alignment between regulators and installers could prevent a lot of friction and lead to more practical outcomes.
